DiagnosticReport Panels to support linked/contained Observation results

Pathology Result in Notts currently have separate structured data elements for the specimen and results (see screenshot from legacy shared care record), which would logically map to FHIR resources that would be referenced from the DiagnosticReport Resource (see attached FHIR Example)

Suggestion is to enhance the Diagnostic report panels to display data from multiple observation resources that are referenced in DiagnosticReport.result

    I have marked this as future consideration for now. We can set up a workshop to discuss with partners when the data model has been finalised.

    Hi Marc,
    The desire in Notts would be to align to the National Standards, namely the NHS England Pathology FHIR Implementation Guide - however that guide is still under active development by NHSE (and is based on FHIR R4 / UK Core), as such we haven't really spent a lot of time discussing the issue at this stage.

    Longer term, when the NHSE data model has been finalised, it would be useful to have a wider/Interweave discussion on the cost/benefit of data providers sharing fully structured DiagnosticReports, (plus all the associated Resources such as ServiceRequest, Specimens & Observations), and developing the Portal UI to handle all different request/report permutations.

    Hi Stephen

    this is interesting and looks like it may tie in with a couple of other things

    1. Enhanced Encounters panel - ability to display linked groupings, and documents linked to encounters

    2. work we're currently doing on Diagnostic reports panel - simple version

    3. An idea raised LLR https://interweave-portal.ideas.aha.io/ideas/P-I-112

    They may not all be the same but there may be some similarities in approach which would be good to understand, I think it would be good to have a workshop, I'll look to include LLR and schedule
