Change Grow Live (CGL) are a charity who provide free and confidential treatment, support and information about drug and alcohol use, smoking, homelessness, justice and probation, and employment (https://www.changegrowlive.org/).
We have had a request from ICB Commissioning and Public Health leads to improve partner visibility of when a person is receiving CGL treatment (particularly prescribing, to avoid risk of contraindicated prescribing and improve visibility of prescribing of controlled drugs). Much of this is currently communicated by letter/email with the GP and accordingly there are various delays and gaps associated with CGL treatment appearing in a person's Primary Care Record.
CGL currently hold contracts across the Interweave footprint, namely Notts, Kirklees (WY), ReNew Hull and York (HNY), so we would like to request integration once, for all, at Interweave level. Details of their FHIR API are below/attached.
Jackie Bell (NHSE) confirmed that Birmingham & Solihull’s shared care record has already connected CGL to provide and consume data, and they found the CGL data “priceless”. Kira will request more information on use cases from Carl Beet.

Other information
CGL’s API: CGL’s CRiiS OpenAPI uses FHIR; their Appointments resource returns last and next appointments, and each Encounter resource represents an episode of care (with keyworker/location). Prescribing is also included in the API. Sample attached. NB. this idea only concerns the receipt of CGL data into Interweave ShCRs. CGL access to local ShCRs will be discussed separately - they are currently requesting access to GP Connect which may fulfil the majority of their requirements as a consumer. |
