Recent discussions with the National Record Locator (NRL) team have indicated that there may be a use-case for viewing Care Home data
- NRL have recently simplified the requirement for Smartcards, so that now other 2-factor authentication methods are acceptable
- The NRL team have gained traction with Care Homes providing documents via this mechanism.
If progressed then the solution is likely to be similar to the current GP Connect solution ie:
- Development of an "adapter" to call the NRL and retrieve documents
- No PIX (at least not initially). Look every time to see if there is anything there
- An NHSD SCAL process to navigate

Do we know any more about the documents being provided?
The value of will need to be assessed by PSG, i.e. what coverage has the provider across our regions, what's being provided and who would benefit from the information
