Show medicallySafeForDischarge on the Encounter detailed panel and the ‘More details’ modal

The medicallySafeForDischarge extension is a Must Support on the the InterweaveEncounter profile, however the data is not visible in the portal (usually all the Must Support Fields are on the detailed panel and the ‘More details’ modal)

This is a key field in Notts and will need to be visible to users

    Hi Marc

    The medicallySafeForDischarge extension will only really apply to Inpatient stays (i.e. Encounters where class = IMP), it will also be most relevant for current stays (i.e. status = in-progress) - as such I think just having them present on the 'More Details' modal (and as columns on the Detailed Encounters page) is sufficient.

    Also, one of the 3 fields you suggest introducing is 'Planned discharge date', however that is not part of the extension ... the 3 elements on the extension are:

    • Medically Safe for Discharge Status

    • Predicted Date Medically Safe (i.e. the earlier date when it will be safe for the patient can be transferred)

    • Actual Date Medically Safe (i.e. any interval between this date/time and the actual discharge date/time, will equate to 'bed blocking')

    Hi Stephen,

    Just a heads up to let you know we are taking this forward for development. In exploring our options, there are a couple of questions that we're hoping you can help us with.

    Our plan is to introduce the following fields into the encounters panel:

    • 'Predicted Date Medically Safe for Transfer'

    • 'Planned discharge date'

    • 'Safe for discharge status'

    The question is, would you expect this information to render in the summary panel as below?

    We are mindful that the summary panel should be reserved for critical information that should be seen at a glance. The data will be accessible via 'More Details', regardless, but we figured it would be worth checking if it should feature in the summary view as well.

    If you can let me know, we will update the designs to reflect what is needed.
