Extend Health check to trigger dummy pix and iam test back to YHCR

Health check only checks config in one direction. If pix and iam connection could be also checked that would save testing and diagnosis time.

The problem is that connections between Providers and YHCR are set up, but the pix connection is harder to test and check. Often multiple roles need to get involved to test , verify and resolve pix issues. Network config changes on site or by YHCR can stop the pix and iam services working. The Health check can say everything is working when pix is not. If the Health check could trigger a dummy pix registration (with that function being provided on the fhir appliances to respond) then the full connection set could be easily checked and verified. There have been problems setting up pix registration on almost all sites that I have worked on, delaying testing and production go lives, and downtime and thousands of pix failures, eg when HSCN incoming range was blocked.

    Hi Kevin,

Apologies - I'm coming into this one a little late, but I'm struggling to understand a couple of things. Can you help me with the following:

    What is the problem?

e.g. where is the pain? what is happening? what is the risk in not doing this work?

    Who is experiencing this problem?

e.g. where is the paing being felt? us, partners etc.

What value do we expect to achieve from solving this issue?

e.g. time saving, cost saving etc.

This would be useful for initial config (and occasional subsequent diagnostics), to be able to prove YHCR<>local FHIR store <>PIX connections, from onboarding without (or prior to) having to get a patient registered and then checking the various logs. Setting up the pix connection is often problematic, so ease of testing from 1 place would be a great help.

hi, are you able to provide more information about the problem and how often it manifests? the act of trying to register a patient will ping the PIX?
